Portrait of Ellie Fern seated in a cozy kitchen, alternative indie artist based in New York City

Hi, I’m Ellie! An old soul making music for anyone navigating the messiness of love, grief, and growth. With warm, breathy vocals and lyrics that don't shy away from hard truths, I create space for both happy and sad tears—an honest, grounded sound that lingers.

My debut single "This Way" arrives March 6, a meditation on what happens when you finally hit pause on the relentless pace of modern life. Written after my move from Arizona to New York City, the song chronicles that universal moment of burnout: when my morning coffee stopped tasting right and I realized I'd been racing toward a finish line that kept moving. So I took a bus upstate, where the autumn breeze became an unlikely teacher, reminding me how to slow down. The song's revelation isn't dramatic—it's in the quiet realization that I'd "finally learned my name." Moving from anxiety to acceptance with a lightness that feels earned, "This Way" is an intimate, folk-leaning indie track for anyone who's ever needed to escape their own life to remember how to live it.

For six years, I performed solo, sharing stages with Melissa Etheridge, Switchfoot, Collective Soul, and Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers. Now I create alongside Ellie Fern & The Evergreen, a five-piece band of my closest friends whose intricate harmonies and lush arrangements bring new depth to my songwriting. Our infectious joy onstage is undeniable.

Whether you're laughing through tears or crying through smiles, let the music meet you there.
